Case Study

Typically, the number of visitor will be increasing by time to time after the website launched because of the variety of marketing promotion (such as exhibition, roadshow, media advertising, etc) and materials supporting (such as name card, catalogues, banner or products packing).

However, the number of website visitors will keep in low level until the boom of the search engine organic result.

In order to show the effect of SEO and keep the pure result and avoid any influence of the marketing promotion, we try to setup a new demo website and then calculate and gather the statistics of the traffic and the number of visitors.

In this case study, we try to explore the relationship between the search engine page rank (organic result) and the number of unique visitors.

Event History

15 Nov 2005 - a new website domain is registered.
10 Dec 2005 - website designed and launched
15 Apr 2006 - website optimized and stop the optimization.

Page Rank (Organic Result)

After the optimization, the page rank of the particular keywords in yahoo.com.hk is raising from more than 350 to Top 10 between Jan and May 2006.

Visitors

The number of visitors increase since April 2006. Average 30 visitors per day visit the website. In order to isolate the effect of SEO. no advertisement (pay per click advertisement) make for the website. (More than 6,000 unique visitors up to September 2006)
